The Role of the Band Corps is to provide martial music for ceremonial functions and popular music for the entertainment of the Force.

The Band Corps is a close-knitted unit with a high level of discipline. The success of the Bands depend on the members in it. No one man can play the whole Band so full commitment and cooperation is always needed from all its members. The Bands of the GDF have always impressed the public with its varying displays of drumline and marches on parades.
